Technical Writer, Environment Health And Safety The candidate will be responsible for proactively staying informed about EHS regulations, managing client alerts, providing expert interpretation, writing safety programs, and developing EHS-related content that creates a value-added experience for KPA clients. Review and update existing EHS programs each year for compliance. Summarize regulations in an easy-to-understand manner that provides a competitive advantage for KPA. Stay abreast of EHS and finance and insurance regulations, attend industry trainings, and proactively communicate this information to the organization and to clients. Update associated documents and materials accordingly. Use technology to send out client communications and promote EHS content within myKPAonline software and other appropriate applications. Travel to client locations, field offices, and tradeshows on occasion. Deliver dynamic public speaking talks and client webinars. Write custom EHS programs that clients actively reference and value, and meet federal or state regulatory requirements. Work with Content & Community Manager and others as appropriate to develop new templates and approaches that appeal to busy clients and consultants to deliver essential messages. Manage EHS client communication development and distribution and internal regulatory updates. Possess strong organization skills to ensure that client alerts and communications go out on time and that documents are tracked and maintained. Works collaboratively with Content & Community Manager and Content Developer to contribute copy and expertise to aid the development of interactive tools and other content formats. Demonstrate confidence, authority, and accuracy writing about the following topics and other related topics. Reports to the Content & Community Manager. Establish proactive methods for staying informed about EHS regulatory updates. Plan EHS client alerts for existing regulations and send dates. Write and distribute client alerts that are timely and useful for clients. Create new template for internal EHS regulatory updates. Revise all existing EHS programs for compliance and clarity. Demonstrate a strong understanding of myKPAonline and apply that knowledge to client alerts. Plan, coordinate, and promote EHS webinars, including presenting a few of them. Propose process improvements that will help members of the Operations Team communicate upcoming regulatory changes and actions to clients. Develop at least 3 new EHS programs based on the greatest vulnerabilities for clients. Write copy for EHS eGuides, infographics, and other value-added content pieces that can be used for client communications. Council the organization on upcoming regulations that will impact our clients or give KPA a competitive advantage.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Paralegal Studies or equivalent degree or experience. Should have 2+ years’ experience in EHS auditing. Must have experience implementing EHS programs, CSP, or CIH preferred (or has a desire to learn within the first year). Experience in the automotive industry a plus. Experience in safety a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed. An outlook for risk and compliance with an ability to identify and evaluate internal and external risk is needed. Should have ability to communicate complex information in an easy-to-understand, engaging manner. Must have process-driven approach with an ability to modify quickly to adjust to changes in the market.
