Min 3 yrs required
Family Law Paralegal Candidate will primarily be assigned to the Family Law section; however, from time to time may assist with Juvenile Law and Special Education cases as needed. Will include: Drafting pleadings, discovery and closing documents. Obtain, review and analyze documents, including medical records and financial records, tax and employment records, or any other relevant information. Direct interaction with clients. Managing and updating the calendars for all attorneys. Aiding clients and attorneys in answering and submitting discovery. Interacting with the District Clerks' offices and Court Coordinators. Arranging service of process. Coordinating mediations. Timekeeping and billable time responsibilities. Prepare for trial by preparing trial notebooks, exhibits, and witness files. Compile evidence and supporting information by searching records, discovery documents, transcripts, libraries, and databases. Manage files and documents. Calendar and track all discovery and various other deadlines. Correspond with clients and opposing law firms. Communication of issues with opposing counsel, experts, clients and courts.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Paralegal certification is a plus. Prior legal experience is required. 3+ years’ experience as a family law paralegal. Ability to manage time and work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to monitor calendars and manage deadlines. Ability to work with clients in a professional and friendly manner. Reliable attendance. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Advanced oral and written communication skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Westlaw Doc and Form Builder (or similar form building software). Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, E-File and law firm time and billing software.
