A law firm seeks a driven and experienced Personal Injury Trial Attorney to join its growing team in New Orleans, LA. This role requires a passionate individual who will handle personal injury and civil litigation cases from intake through settlement or trial. The ideal candidate will have strong trial experience, be licensed in Louisiana, and be committed to providing exceptional service to clients. This is a full-time, on-site position at the firm’s Metairie office, where collaboration and teamwork are valued to ensure success.

Duties:

  • Manage personal injury cases from intake through settlement or jury verdict, ensuring the best possible outcome for clients.
  • Engage in regular client communication to provide updates and address concerns.
  • Take and defend depositions, prepare and respond to motions, and handle other essential litigation tasks.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Lead mediations and work with clients and team members to develop case strategies.
  • Serve as lead counsel in trial, advocating effectively in court.
  • Collaborate with support staff, including legal assistants and case managers, to ensure case progression.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation.
  • Active license to practice law in Louisiana, in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar.
  • Strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence.
  • Experience drafting and responding to motions in litigation.
  • Demonstrated trial experience, with the ability to advocate confidently in the courtroom.
  • Ability to handle a caseload and work efficiently under pressure.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Louisiana State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in trial advocacy and managing all aspects of litigation.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload.
  • Collaborative approach to working with team members, legal staff, and clients.
  • Ability to think critically and develop effective legal strategies.
