Junior Paralegal, Temporary, Contract Duties: Draft response to discovery, prepare motions and other pleadings as requested. Create reports for attorneys based on case specifications and attorney requests. Filing, typing, preparing paperwork and answering correspondence for attorneys. Direct contact with clients and courts to aid attorneys in gathering necessary information as needed. Answer basic client questions as able and consulting with attorneys when necessary. Request documentation pertinent to ongoing cases. Tracking time and posting fees to client accounts through TABs. Submit billings for expenses to the firm’s controller after client is billed in TABs. Utilize existing files and a variety of other research resources to develop information for pending cases. Preparation of closed files for archiving purposes. Achieve assigned billable goals. Cover reception area when necessary answering phone and greeting visitors to the office. Maintain a professional attitude and presence within the office. Complete ongoing professional development through employer sponsored training with MCLE.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Associate Degree in business or law related field. Required work experience in an office setting, preferably in a legal setting. Experience in landlord/tenant law preferred. Excellent computer and typing skills. Must have strong attention to detail and excellent communications skills. Attendance and punctuality are also keys to success.
