A law firm seeks an experienced and self-motivated Family Law Attorney to join its team in Philadelphia, PA. This full-time position provides the opportunity to work exclusively in the firm's family law department, with a focus on representing union members in family-related legal matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire for growth, an ability to handle complex family law issues, and a passion for advocating for clients in need of legal support.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, and spousal support cases.
  • Provide legal counsel and assistance to union members, ensuring their rights are protected throughout the legal process.
  • Draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, and agreements.
  • Participate in hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings, advocating on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to manage caseloads and ensure timely legal support.
  • Handle sensitive client communications with empathy and professionalism.
  • Stay current on developments in family law and maintain knowledge of legal trends and statutes.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior attorneys and legal assistants in the family law department.

Requirements:

  • Experience in family law, preferably with a background in representing union members.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills.
  • Experience with litigation and handling family law cases in court.
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania and New Jersey State Bars is required.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of family law and experience handling family law cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong negotiation and litigation skills.
  • Experience working with diverse clients, particularly in union-related legal matters.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
