A law firm seeks an experienced and self-motivated Family Law Attorney to join its team in Philadelphia, PA. This full-time position provides the opportunity to work exclusively in the firm's family law department, with a focus on representing union members in family-related legal matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire for growth, an ability to handle complex family law issues, and a passion for advocating for clients in need of legal support.
Duties:
- Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, and spousal support cases.
- Provide legal counsel and assistance to union members, ensuring their rights are protected throughout the legal process.
- Draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, and agreements.
- Participate in hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings, advocating on behalf of clients.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to manage caseloads and ensure timely legal support.
- Handle sensitive client communications with empathy and professionalism.
- Stay current on developments in family law and maintain knowledge of legal trends and statutes.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior attorneys and legal assistants in the family law department.
Requirements:
- Experience in family law, preferably with a background in representing union members.
- Strong legal writing and research skills.
- Experience with litigation and handling family law cases in court.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with team members.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Admission to the Pennsylvania and New Jersey State Bars is required.
