Legal Assistant/Paralegal Responsibilities: Providing administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectiveness Handling communication with clients, witnesses etc. Legal administrative support for trials. Provide administrative support to lawyers and senior paralegal as needed to enhance office effectiveness. Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses etc.. Summarize medical records and bills. Conduct investigations and statistical/documentary research. Compose and file basic legal documents and related correspondence. Answer and direct phone calls. Maintain contact lists for clients, various medical providers, and office vendors. Monitor deadlines and update calendars.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Diploma or Certificate of Completion of a Legal Assisting or Paralegal Program is a plus. Willingness to learn and take instruction. Can-do attitude. Proven working experience as legal assistant or legal secretary. sharp attention to detail, time-management skills and the ability to handle confidential information. Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system. Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office. Computer literacy. Proficiency in English. Working knowledge of case management software. Excellent secretarial and organizational skills. Ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure.
