Product Developer The candidate will conduct extensive legal research and analysis of attorney tasks, and synthesize the results to create requirements for new features and functionality within Westlaw. Will participate in cross-functional product development teams to deliver new features and enhancements, including software developers, R&D, product owners, content operations, finance, marketing, customer service, testing, billing and account management. Manage specific product capabilities or features through the development process and be an effective advocate for the customer. Ensure that business requirements, product designs and individual contributions are consistently excellent. Support and analyze customer research to validate, prioritize, and refine new product concepts. Contribute to the development of cost estimates and business cases for large capital investments. Support product launch and ongoing sales efforts with presentations, customer visits, and education of internal stakeholders. Monitor performance of new products and enhancements through customer usage and revenue tracking. Provide product oversight, including troubleshooting and quality assurance testing of products and enhancements.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have advanced legal degree (JD degree, LL.M. or MLS). Should have 2+ years of experience in product development, legal product management. OR Must have 2+ years of experience in legal industry such as legal practice, legal research and editorial, legal marketing or legal technology roles. Knowledge of the legal industry and needs of practicing attorneys is needed. Extensive experience using Westlaw and MS Office tools to conduct large legal research projects and effectively report on the results are needed. Strong project management skills including overall project planning and ability to support cross-functional, cross-department teams to accomplish established objectives within tight deadlines
