Assistant General Counsel, Lending The candidate will work extensively with the team at the Bank to support existing and new business initiatives and other projects, with a primary focus on securities backed lending and tailored lending transactions, while also providing support for the Bank's community reinvestment act transactions and credit and debit card portfolio. Will support and advise on development, implementation, and administration of existing and new lending programs and initiatives. Provide support and advise on applicable banking laws and regulations and assist the business in updating products, services, and practices in response to changes to such laws and regulations. Work directly with business leaders, legal and control-function management. Respond to ad hoc requests from internal and external sources, and work on other special projects.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have a J.D. degree with current admission to the Bar. Should preferably have 7+ years of experience practicing law in the financial services sector. Experience with US laws and regulations governing credit products and services, including Regulations B, BI, U, T, W and Z, Rule 144 is required. Knowledge of UCC articles 8 & 9 is needed. Should have experience in preparing and negotiating credit and lending-related agreements. Experience is also preferred in real estate secured transactions and applicable consumer finance laws and regulations. Must have a confident ability to advise and communicate effectively with Bank management and US regulators.
