Paralegal II – Real Estate Duties: Provide paralegal assistance in a wide variety of legal and administrative support matters pertaining to the organization. Assist real estate attorneys with organizing, managing and maintaining a variety of matters. Communicate regularly with the team to inform them of the status of matters and projects. Perform legal research and data compilation. Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication. Prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes. Prepare accurate and complete work products. Assist with internal and external communications related to legal matters. Administrative Provide support/assist with attorney scheduling and or travel arrangements. Provide support with invoicing review and approval, accrual, expense tracking, internal reporting, and other legal related spend reporting. Assist with distribution of incoming communications. Draft letters related to store operations. Projects and other matters as assigned. May provide routine paralegal assistance to outside counsel and/or other administrative agencies involved in Company litigation, administrative, and/or compliance matters. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest developments in law and in other related areas. Knowledge of current and developing legal issues and trends in area of expertise.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: A college degree is required plus 3-5 years of progressively responsible paralegal experience in a corporate Legal department or law firm environment. A paralegal certification from an accredited paralegal program is required. Must have strong knowledge of general legal terminology and legal principles. Must have demonstrated strong ability to perform legal research; to conduct discovery, understanding of contracts; and to use modern office equipment, including MS Word software and electronic resource tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw. Must have exceptional ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to negotiate effectively; to interview associates; vendors and customers. Must be able to prepare accurate and complete work products; organize and prioritize workload and meet multiple coinciding deadlines; understand and follow written and oral directions and establish and maintain effective working relations with others.
