Legal Assistant Duties: Scheduling and managing trial calendar. Assisting attorneys with research. Interviewing clients, witnesses and others. Preparing legal documents and arguments. Managing and organizing cases. Preparing briefs and pleadings. Summarizing depositions and other documents. Collecting, retrieving, and analyzing information. Assisting attorneys with trial and its preparation.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Degree from some college is preferred. Must have a passion for accuracy and following-through. Be able to conceptualize and prioritize tasks, as well as manage time efficiently. Identify problems; collect, organize, review, evaluate, and draw conclusions. Legal research and factual investigation of issues. Written Communication Skills – Command of grammar, spelling, and the English language. Interpersonal “People” Skills – Must be a team player (We are a Law TEAM). Computer Skills – Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, litigation support, and internet. Ability to multitask. Common sense and good judgment. High personal standards and positive work ethics. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Willingness to learn and work in the legal area. Spanish language fluency is a plus.
