Corporate Paralegal Duties: Conduct legal research and writing projects. Develops and maintains employee investigation and litigation records and files. Facilitates and interacts with all areas of the company in obtaining information essential to ongoing worker’s compensation and litigation matters, as well as facilitating interaction with outside counsel, and governmental agencies on various projects. Monitors subcontractors for compliance with contractual requirements such as current insurance coverage and certificates, bonds, etc.. Develops and reviews a database of proposed and approved construction contracts and subcontracts. Manages revisions to standard AIA approved contracts and all Change Order requests from project managers. Researches and drafts memorandums regarding third-party companies. Manages the “Job Hazard Report Analysis” or “JHRA” process. Maintains “Safety Policy” manuals. Prepares state specific summary of law provisions including, Indemnity, Prompt Payment and Choice of Law. Assists Corporate Counsel with special projects and large claims. Will provide other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Paralegal certificate required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 5-7 years' experience as a paralegal in a corporate environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Westlaw. Expert knowledge of legal research. Read and interpret documents. Strong research and report generating skills. Strong organizational skills. Ability to multi-task.
