Legal Assistant The candidate: Organizes and maintains filing systems as necessary for classifying, retrieving and disposing of correspondence, records, reports and other documents. Receives screens and refers incoming telephone calls and visitors to the department. Composes correspondence and assemble information for various reports, briefings, meetings and inquiries from internal and external sources. Prepare technical and non-technical correspondence, reports and other documents making independent decisions regarding format and arrangement. Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to established company guidelines. Develop, write, and edit proposals. Maintain adherence to planning, policies, and practices. Process related administrative details in order to keep department operational and effective while achieving results of projects assigned. Possess skills to expedite clerical processing, evaluate information, and implement or take action based upon information. Exercise discretion and judgment based on available information related to projects assigned. Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job. Performs other related duties as assigned. Four year degree from accredited college preferred. 3+ years office administration experience required. 1+ year working in a legal department is preferred.
