Compliance Associate The candidate will assist with the maintenance and monitoring of the Code of Conduct. Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures. Oversee appropriate dissemination and communication to affected personnel of all changes to pertinent regulations, policies, and guidelines. Participate in the development, presentation and implementation of in-service educational programs, including written materials on key compliance topics. Assist with establishing and maintaining channels for reporting compliance concerns, including the Corporate Integrity Hotline. Assist the Compliance Officer with conducting and/or overseeing compliance investigations, and/or providing direction to other departments conducting investigations. Assist with the creation and oversight of the organization’s Compliance Plan document, and the annual Compliance Work Plan. Serve on key committees throughout the organization in need of compliance oversight. Monitors revenue cycle controls and processes to ensure appropriate billing and payment in accordance with internal policies and third party payer requirements. Analyzes compliance and integrity concerns, questions or complaints received from internal customers. Provides oversight and direction of external regulatory audits. Assist in the day to day functions to support the effective and efficient operation of the institution-wide Conflict of Interest program, including: collection and review of all annual and research specific conflicts disclosures from administrative, medical and research staff. Serves as a liaison with other departments with compliance related responsibilities.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Health Care Administration, or a Juris Doctorate is preferred. Should have 3-5 years of experience in a health care related field. Strong interpersonal and communication skills is required. Prior compliance and/or regulatory experience is preferred. Knowledge and experience with electronic medical records, Internal Classification of Diseases (ICD-9 or 10), HCPCS, CPT coding principles and guidelines is desired. Healthcare compliance certification is helpful.
