Chief Litigation Counsel The candidate handles court proceedings, arbitration, and pre-litigation claims for the Company, both as claimant and defending party. Will develops and communicates litigation-related policies and practices. Advises executives and other lawyers on key legal and regulatory risks. Tracks litigation involving the Company, as well as third-party matters to ensure awareness of legal developments from operational, financial, and reputational perspectives. Maintains relations with outside counsel, monitors outside counsel spend and metrics, and partners with outside counsel on specific cases to ensure top-quality service that is cost-effective and sensitive to the clientâ€™s business goals and tolerance for risk. Assist businesses in avoiding or resolving disputes before litigation is commenced, among other litigation related tasks.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have JD degree and current bar admission. Should have 10+ years of experience with commercial and civil litigation at the State and Federal levels. Subject matter includes anti-trust, labor and employment, class actions, personal injury and property damage is needed. Significant experience as a practicing litigation lawyer, preferably with a global company or a national law firm is essential. Must have strong legal knowledge and skills as well as superior critical thinking, analytical, drafting, problem-solving and negotiating skills. Substantial experience in making recommendations to corporate and divisional senior executive management and clients on various legal issues is needed.
