Chief Compliance Officer Duties: Provide the President and Senior Leadership with information and recommendations regarding compliance matters. Oversee the University’s Compliance Plan. Lead the University’s efforts to foster a culture of compliance, ethics, and integrity. Identify campus-wide barriers or challenges to achieving compliance and partner with University stakeholders to resolve them. Partner with compliance personnel to identify and resolve any non-compliance that may arise in their areas. Conduct internal assessments of and track metrics for compliance areas. Manage the University’s process for creating and revising University policies. Chair the University’s Compliance Advisory Committee. Offer professional development opportunities for compliance professionals to enhance their skills. Manage the University’s anonymous Ethics & Compliance Hotline. Supervise Compliance Office staff and manage the Compliance Office budget.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. 5+ years of compliance or legal experience, which must include the following: Experience interpreting and providing consultation on laws and regulations. Experience conducting or advising on independent investigations. Experience developing policies and procedures. Preferred: JD Degree, CPA/CIA certification, and/or research compliance experience. 6+ years of compliance experience. Management and supervision experience. Experience working at a large public research University or in higher education. Experience developing strategies and initiatives to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion at a systemic level.
