Position Purpose: The Associate General Counsel supports the outside Counsel and other NuRock staff by providing its corporate executives advice in day-to-day legal matters, managing on-going legal projects, and working pro-actively with staff to help achieve goals and minimize risk. The Associate General Counsel must be a highly organized licensed attorney who takes initiative and is capable of providing thoughtful analysis on a variety of issues and of managing complex legal and business projects in a fast-paced setting, while servicing our internal clients. This position will advise on matters relating to: development and construction, management, fair housing, contract disputes, HR policies and procedures; corporate governance; and other transactional and day-to-day matters.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSpecific duties include, but are not limited to:• Review, negotiate, structure and draft agreements for NuRock (e.g., contract drafts, work-for-hire, vendors, tenant relations).• Assist staff in issue-spotting, new business development, negotiation strategy, contractual compliance, and other legal and business affairs matters.• Support Corporate Executives in corporate management, special projects, litigation, human resources and governance matters.• Develop and maintain contract management system, developing and generating report packages for NuRock’s senior leadership.• Other duties as assigned. Qualifications• Law degree and bar admission required• 2-5+ years of corporate / transactional law firm or in-house experience• Exposure to real estate transactions, dispute resolution, litigation, and government compliance preferred• Excellent written and oral business communication skills • Strong contract drafting, negotiating and issue-spotting skills• Ability to make timely, nuanced recommendations for business decisions based on reasoned legal analysis and the strategic objectives of the organization• Ability to work on multiple projects and engage with multiple stakeholders in a challenging and fast paced environment• High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics and integrity• Must be prepared to work as business needs require, which may include long days, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays• Must have U.S. work authorizationWe have great Perks - Comprehensive Benefits Package • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance • Paid Vacation, Holiday & Sick Days • Business Casual Dress • Casual Dress Fridays • And More
