Attorney The candidate will provide leadership to ensure effective, efficient operations, optimizing performance and continually improving quality of care in a vastly changing health care environment. Will create a culture of innovation, learning, teamwork and professional practice, consistent with the mission, vision and values of the organization. Provide high quality legal advice in an efficient and effective manner. Provide presentations as requested. Work closely with firm Health Affiliate management to assure legal related issues are being addressed consistently, timely and accurately. Establish effective mechanisms of communication with staff, providers, payers, and the firm's Health management team to foster an environment of openness, trust, teamwork and staff development. Collaborate with firm's Health affiliates in building strong relationships. Complete special projects and monthly reports as assigned. Perform other duties as requested by supervisor to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the Law Department. Participate in establishing and preparing departmental goals, standards, procedures, and instructions, which contribute to the effectiveness of the department in accordance with organizational goals. Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work. Adheres to all firm's Health Personnel policies and procedures, departmental policies and safety guidelines. Behave in a manner consistent with all Corporate Compliance policies and procedures and FOCUS Values. Supervision Received. General supervision is received from Deputy General Counsel. Must have License to practice law in Iowa or Illinois or a candidate for admission to practice or for registration as in-house counsel in Iowa. Must have 0-5 years of experience as a lawyer, with healthcare law preferred but not required. Should have highly developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the firm, its subsidiaries and affiliates. Must have the ability to continuously display high standards of ethics, honesty, integrity, dependability and judgment. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to take initiative and exercise independent judgment, decision making and problem solving expertise is required. Should have a Law degree from accredited law school.
