Legal Assistant Duties: Setting up new client files, ensuring that all Statute of Limitations are properly calendared. Serving as interpreter during client meetings. Setting up and coordinating all doctor depositions, generating confirmation letters. Scheduling Medical-Legal evaluations. Responding to all client inquiries and taking necessary actions on medical treatment issues. Other clerical tasks, as assigned and under the direction of attorneys. EAMS Filing of applications, DORs and other documents.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: In addition to being fluent in Spanish and English, must have completed 2 years of college and/or have a combination of college and 4 years of experience working in an office. Must be fluent (reading, writing, speaking) in SPANISH and ENGLISH. A background in workers’ compensation is preferred. Very detail oriented. Good judgment. Excellent communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) , be very comfortable with computer systems and quickly learn new applications. Experience working in a Law Office is a plus.
