Legal Assistant Duties: Manage all Court filings: serve and file/e-file documents in state and federal court; work with attorneys to organize briefs, exhibits, and appendices; create document indices, including Table of Contents/Table of Authorities, in the preparation of motion filings; arrange court call appearances. Preparation of various legal documents: Correspondence, Subpoenas, Discovery shells, Pleading shells, Proofs of Service (including coordinating service and circulating team email with served documents) Manage administrative functions for depositions: schedule court reporter and videographer; coordinate communications with other offices and vendors; organize exhibits Litigation and Trial Support: copying; document organization; exhibit preparation Other Duties: Assist attorneys with case organization and related scheduling, including travel and monitoring/requesting hearing reservations and court call appearances Prepare materials for case preparation, including Attorney Working Binders and case files. Other projects and office support as needed. Act as part of the legal admin team, and as such your main function is to support the attorneys in their work.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Excellent oral communication skills. Anticipate, understand, and responds to the needs of attorneys and other staff members to meet or exceed their expectations. Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions to enhance organizational effectiveness; ability to undertake self-directed tasks when necessary. Excellent time management skills; attention to detail; the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency; ability to make clear, timely decisions. High level of professionalism is expected when working with attorneys, staff, clients, outside vendors and others.
