Legal Secretary III
The candidate performs complex legal secretarial and administrative support work for one or more attorneys, including local district and county attorneys as well as Department attorneys. Maintains complete and accurate control of legal files. Work includes preparing and typing legal and administrative correspondence and documents. Develops and maintains appropriate and professional working relationships with agency staff and the legal community. Assists in establishing and maintaining tracking systems to ensure timely and efficient processing of all legal tasks within the unit. Prepares travel requests and reports for staff. Ensures that all Department attorneys' and prosecutors' offices are adequately supplied and that office equipment is maintained. Performs other duties as assigned. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of independent judgment and initiative concerning proper methods and legal procedures to accomplish assigned duties. Notary Public is preferred. Must demonstrate ability to use Word and Excel. Some education beyond high school is preferred. Prior secretarial or paralegal experience preferred.
