A law firm in Madison, WI, is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to handle worker's compensation and civil litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation, family law, and employment law, and will be adept at representing clients in Wisconsin administrative agencies and trial and appellate courts.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in worker's compensation cases before Wisconsin administrative agencies, trial courts, and appellate courts.
  • Manage a caseload involving civil litigation matters, including drafting and filing pleadings, conducting discovery, and participating in settlement negotiations and trials.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation in family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and support issues.
  • Handle employment law matters, including disputes related to wrongful termination, discrimination, and wage and hour issues.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents, including briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Develop case strategies and provide advice to clients on legal rights and options.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, and arbitrations, and effectively advocate on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to ensure comprehensive case management.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
  • Uphold high standards of professionalism and ethical practice in all client interactions.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active Wisconsin Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission.
  • Experience in worker's compensation and civil litigation, with a preference for additional experience in family law and employment law.
  • Strong understanding of Wisconsin administrative and court procedures.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to professionalism, client service, and ethical practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also handling independent responsibilities.

Education:

Certifications:
