Assistant Unit Head The candidate manages a multidisciplinary unit consisting of Deputy Attorneys General, a paralegal, administrative assistants, a nurse analyst and special investigators. In addition to assisting the Director with day-to-day unit operations, the primary responsibility for this DAG is to prosecute a statewide caseload of criminal health care fraud, drug diversion, and patient abuse and neglect and financial exploitation cases. In addition to this criminal caseload, the DAG will serve as the Stateâ€™s primary contact on the NAMFCU Qui Tam Subcommittee, and will manage the flow of updates and notices regarding active qui tam cases for the State. Assists the Director in monitoring the status of settlements to facilitate their timely execution. May participate on global teams on behalf of the MFCU at the intake, investigation, litigation and settlement stages. May litigate civil cases under the Delaware False Claims and Reporting Act. Play an integral and substantial role in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unitâ€™s handling of its wide variety of operational and administrative responsibilities. Lead the unit investigators and auditors throughout the investigation and prosecution of criminal and civil cases. Participation in frequent internal weekly unit meetings, as well as attendance at meetings with external public and private stakeholders is required. Must possess the ability to efficiently evaluate cases, determine case resolutions with minimal guidance, anticipate legal issues, demonstrate leadership qualities and exhibit substantial interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate the ability to work with other Deputy Attorneys General, support staff, Court personnel and statewide professional partners. Litigation experience is preferred. Delaware bar admission is required. Closing Date: April 25, 2018.
