Paralegal/Legal Assistant Responsibilities: Prepare, process, and electronically file legal documents and papers, such as summonses, subpoenas, complaints, appeals, motions, and other pleadings; Mail, fax, or arrange for delivery of legal correspondence; Receive and place telephone calls; Schedule and make appointments; Make photocopies; Organize and maintain documents, and files; Assist attorneys in collecting information.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: An associate degree in paralegal studies, or ability to obtain one within three months of start date; Strong computer skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn and use accounting software; Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to function professionally with a wide range of clients on all levels (management and non-management); Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and independently, while also being able to work under the direction of attorneys and together with other paralegals; Ability to balance a diverse set of duties, to set priorities and to meet deadlines; Ability to interact professionally with clients, prospective clients, and other members of the legal community. Strong work ethic; High degree of personal responsibility and accountability to the firm and clients.
