The Compliance Director or Sr. Manager will be responsible for overseeing and operationalizing various elements of Millennium Health (MH) Compliance Program. The Compliance Director will help ensure MH’s compliance program is consistent with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. The following are intended to be examples of the accountabilities for which the person in this position is responsible. This position is not intended to be complete or all-inclusive and does not preclude management from assigning other or related functions for which the individual has demonstrated competency through performance. Assists with monitoring field personnel, including Millennium's CIA-required Field Force Monitoring Program Assist the Chief Compliance Officer with the development, implementation, and annual update of the MH Compliance Program and educate the management team and staff about compliance, operational compliance issues, risk issues related to the Company lines of business, and appropriate details of the compliance program. Serve as a liaison to various departments within MH as the primary compliance knowledge and guidance resource, with particular focus on the Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Federal False Claims Act. Conduct compliance investigations including intake, documentation, collaborating with other MH resources, recommendations and resolution. Develop, in concert with the Chief Compliance Officer and MH Executive Team, the annual Compliance Workplan, including development of the work steps for each identified Workplan item, collaboration with other MH resources to complete the work steps, and documentation. Prepare and conduct training sessions on various compliance-related topics. Create and maintain documentation systems and processes as needed to track, trend and manage compliance notifications, issues, corrective action plans, audit results etc. and use those results to support the Chief Compliance Officer. Ensures corrective actions are adequate and have been implemented for all identified compliance deficiencies. Maintain a detailed knowledge of the MH Corporate Integrity Agreement, including reporting and filing requirements. Implement the Chief Compliance Officer’s vision/direction for establishing appropriate programs to prevent, monitor and detect fraud, waste and abuse. Participate in other project management and compliance activities as assigned to meet departmental and MH objectives and requirements. Responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures, developing training programs, and auditing / monitoring compliance related matters that are applicable across MH’s business. Develop policies and programs and audit compliance with the policies and programs related to information privacy and security, with particular attention to HIPAA. Implement and oversee compliance initiatives for MH. Responsible for building and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients, including ability to consult with in-house legal staff as necessary to address compliance issues. Required Skills Solid writing and grammar skills as demonstrated through a writing sample representative of the applicant’s writing style. Working knowledge and understanding of regulations pertaining to Healthcare Compliance (AKS, False Claims, Stark, HIPAA, etc.). Strong communication skills (verbal & written) including ability to interact positively with all levels of the organization. Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicare Advantage. Strong background in data analysis and planning. Ability to research, obtain, coordinate, and integrate feedback and directions from diverse operational groups and organizations into a written product or presentation. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills. Ability and capability to adapt to challenging and/or ambiguous situations. Required Experience Bachelor’s degree and Post graduate course work in progress. JD or Masters in Healthcare Administration preferred. At least 5-8 years’ of specific compliance experience working either in a health care organization Compliance Department or as a compliance consultant, in progressively advancing roles. Experience in lab, biotech, or medical device is preferred. Experience developing, implementing, and monitoring a compliance program. Experience with metrics used to measure success of the compliance program. Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving compliance issues.
