Internship The internship program offers students the experience of learning about the functions of the House of Representatives, as well as, the Congressman's role in representing the 1st Congressional District of Pennsylvania. A three-month period of time allows the student to truly experience life in a Congressional office. Duties include: answering phones, attending and summarizing hearings/briefings, sorting mail and faxes, leading tours of the Capitol, as well as assisting the legislative staff. Interns will have the opportunity to work on issues which are of particular interest to them and gain valuable experience working on Capitol Hill.
