ProfileStaff / Senior Attorney - Immigration The candidate represent survivors of domestic and sexual violence in their petitions for immigration relief, including, but not limited to U Visa, VAWA, T Visa, Adjustment of Status and DACA petitions; as well as at USCIS interviews and before the Los Angeles Executive Office for Immigration Review. As needed, attorneys will also represent survivors in removal proceeding and in appeals. Work with Masters in Social Work (MSW) interns in the provision of holistic services to clients, including referrals for non-legal services, accompaniment and safety planning. Engage in community education and outreach by conducting presentations for community members and partners as needed. Ensure timely and accurate case file maintenance, including electronic records. Provide mentorship to staff and pro bono attorneys and co-counsel cases as needed. Support LACLJ partnerships by providing technical assistance or training to other service providers and participating in networks, task forces or coalitions as needed. Support management team in ensuring best practices related to case management practices and other areas of service delivery. JD degree from an ABA accredited law school and membership in good standing with the California Bar preferred, or other State Bar considered. Should have 2+ years of legal experience and demonstrated knowledge of immigration law for staff attorneys applicants; 7+ years of legal experience with expertise in immigration law for senior attorney applicants. Fluency in written and spoken Spanish required. Demonstrated ability to provide trauma-informed services; experience working with trauma survivors/minors strongly preferred.
