Part time Paralegal - Intellectual Property The candidate will be assisting in various trademark (and some patent) paralegal and administrative tasks. Will be conducting, analyzing and reporting on preliminary trademark clearance searches using public databases and search engines. Assisting in maintaining patent and trademark portfolios, including organization and classifying, annuity/renewal fee support. Coordinating with in-house and outside counsel and internal business partners to support US and foreign patent and trademark application filings; coordinating documentation as needed to support the patent and trademark portfolios, statements of use and opposition proceedings. Monitoring of and reporting on various patent and trademark applications. Patent and patent file history searching, retrieval and filing from various public and proprietary services. Tracking monthly and cumulative billing. Supporting special projects and other needs are required. roviding administrative support on patent and trademark matters, including creating, organizing and maintaining electronic and physical files; calendaring milestone due dates; maintaining and updating IP related documents, including excel documents, monthly and quarterly reports, PowerPoint presentations.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have 5+ years IP-related experience; in-house experience. Must have Bachelorâ€™s degree or Paralegal certification. Must have deep familiarity with trademarks, including trademark clearance, US and international registration strategy and maintenance; exposure to patent. Familiarity with IP specific systems re: portfolio management; USPTO, EP and EUIPO databases; and general trademark searching is required. Excellent communication skills and excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet and research tools is required.
Note : This is a temporary position work 2-3 days/week or approximately 20 hours/week.
