Court Attorney, Clerkâ€™s Office Duties: Provides legal guidance and direction for the procedural management of the courtâ€™s caseload. Drafts Clerkâ€™s procedural orders which facilitate case management. Conducts the initial screening of cases. Conducts legal research and drafts memoranda.â€¢ Provides legal memoranda to the court in emergency matters.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: Must have a JD degree from an accredited law school. Admission to practice before the highest court of a state or commonwealth of the United States is required for appointment at CL 29. 2+ years of progressively responsible specialized experience in the practice of law, legal research, legal administration, or equivalent experience, gained after graduation from law school, is required. A successful candidate must possess the following particular skills and abilities: knowledge of appellate practice and procedure; ability to analyze complex legal questions and provide proposed solutions; strong written and oral communication skills; the ability to work quickly and accurately, and to prioritize among competing demands.
