Risk Manager - Commercial Credit Policy & Innovation
Duties: Researching regulatory interpretation and leading industry practices relating to commercial lending practices. Providing guidance on business policies, standards, and procedures. Providing guidance on controls over regulatory and policy requirements and line of business monitoring of those controls. Identifying trends in data and advising on identified emerging risks. Maintaining subject matter expertise of applicable laws and regulations. Evaluating Internal Audit, Regulatory Exam, and self-identified issues and events for compliance and policy impacts. Providing challenge and guidance on compliance risks and support lines of business through various interactions and forum engagements. Leading workstreams to execute change management programs. Working closely with associates across including: Credit Risk, Technology, Operations, Finance and the lines of business. Leading and reviewing training, as appropriate. Flexibility to travel to various locations, as necessary. Assisting in executing the change management program. Developing communications (e.g. presentations, materials) for key stakeholders and senior leadership. Challenging the status quo, understand the objective for each policy matter and impact to business.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or Military experience. 5+ years of experience in a regulatory environment, risk management, compliance, or a policy role in a financial institution or consultancy firm. Preferred Qualifications: MBA, JD Degree, or master’s degree. 5+ years of experience of working with internal business partners. 3+ years of project management experience in enterprise or credit risk management. Risk Management and or Change Management experience in one or more of the following areas: Financial services regulation, credit policy, credit exceptions, policy adherence and controls or related areas. Experience in risk or policy framework development or enhancement or process improvements. Preferred: Strategic, analytic and innovative orientation: Ability to perform risk assessment, impact analysis, identify root causes and recommend solutions based on available information and data. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, coupled with strategic influencing skills. Ability to gain agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Ability to translate quantitative and qualitative analyses into clear messages. Ability to establish credibility, trust and support within all levels and cross-functionally of the organization. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, under tight deadlines. Ability to work in a highly collaborative manner and strong team player. Willingness to learn. Excellent attention to detail. Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications, and G Suite.
