Fall 2020 Internship
The interns will have first hand knowledge of the way in which a Senate office operates on a daily basis, to observe the legislative process at the federal level, and to develop research skills related to public policy. Preference is given to college students who are attending a Utah university and residents from Utah who are attending schools outside of the state. Applicants must have a high school diploma. Internships are only available to current college students. Current law students and graduate students are eligible to apply, but should be aware that the program is geared towards undergraduate students. Priority is given to students who are from Utah, who attend a university in Utah, or who have other connections to Utah. As an intern, some of your responsibilities may include:.Attending Senate hearings. Assisting with research on specific projects. Sorting and replying to constituent inquiries and mail. Tracking the progress of legislation. Meeting and interacting with constituents in the office. Answering telephones. Attending and assisting with constituent events.
Period: September 15 - December 18
