ERISA Counsel Attorney Candidate will be expected to work on ERISA litigation matters and other insurance related matters and perform all of the duties of a traditional law firm associate, including, legal research, drafting of legal memoranda, motions and pleading, attendance at court conferences, discovery-related activities and investigation, analysis, and drafting of position statements.

Qualification and Experience

Requirements: JD Degree. Outstanding academic record; top 25% of class. Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in California. During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice. with 2+ years of general litigation experience to join the firm’s expanding ERISA litigation practice and assume the role of a non-shareholder track Counsel. Experience in ERISA litigation preferred. Excellent analytical and writing skills are required.

I would like to see better management put into place so that the work load is better balanced throughout the weeks and the months. This way there is always work to be done without being overwhelmed.

Pros : The starting pay is excellent and the benefits (such as 401K) are top notch. I also found everyone to be very helpful and the work environment was very laid back.
Cons : The overall work load on a day to day basis had too much variance. On some days I would have to work well past my normal hours into the night. During other day's I was left with nothing to do.
