Compliance Paralegal The candidate will work closely with the CCO and direct reports on a variety of compliance related projects, including BOD preparation, global trade compliance, investigations, data privacy, training, committee preparation, and other projects as assigned. Compose/run periodic and ad hoc compliance reports, prepare compliance reports for presentation, maintain and update various compliance databases, and update compliance training records. Provide paralegal support on global data privacy compliance and overall paralegal support to the broader compliance team. Maintain responsibility of intake, management, and disposition of complaints to the Ethics and Compliance hotline and provide support to program directors and investigators. Maintain CCO’s Outlook calendar, coordinate travel arrangements (including visa applications), and prepare expense reports for law department personnel. Prioritize regular workload, special tasks, and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within established time frame.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree from a nationally recognized university in legal studies or related field. 5 or more years of paralegal experience. Paralegal certificate or equivalent work experience. Notary Public, State of Connecticut or ability to obtain soon after hire. 5 years of experience in the legal department of a large corporation preferred. Tri-lingual English/French/Spanish a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project; ability to create complex formulas in Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Availability to work a flexible schedule including planned and unplanned overtime, which may include weekends; occasional travel. Strong aptitude for understanding and analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources. Ability to utilize a variety of interpersonal styles and communication methods to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes, or cultures.
