Assistant District Attorney I - Appellate Division The candidate serve as an Assistant District Attorney assigned to the Appellate Division. Essential Duties: Conducting Legal Research; Arguing Constitutional challenges for prosecutions; Preparing and writing appellate briefs; Evaluating trial court decisions for error; Conducting oral argument before the Georgia Appellate courts; and Providing legal guidance for the trial attorneys.

Qualification and Experience

A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school is required. Must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or be in good standing of another state's bar association that is eligible for reciprocity admittance to the State Bar of Georgia. Experience working in a law firm or government legal office, including years' experience in writing appellate briefs and arguing before appellate courts, preferred. Excellent writing skills required. Should have excellent organizational skills. Must have excellent oral communication skills. Should have excellent legal research skills. Excellent working knowledge of Lexis-Nexis are needed. Excellent writing and research skills are required. Experience in preparing appeals and arguing before appellate courts preferred.
