Job Overview:
A law firm seeks an experienced and driven Associate Attorney to join its growing team in defending complex medical malpractice cases. With at least one year of relevant litigation experience, the successful candidate will take on increasing responsibility, including working alongside expert trial attorneys and having the opportunity to second-seat trials. Duties:

  • Work alongside senior trial attorneys on medical malpractice cases, from case initiation to trial.
  • Assist in trial preparation and have the opportunity to second-seat trials.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests and demands.
  • Attend court hearings, conferences, and oral argument on motions.
  • Conduct depositions and collaborate with expert witnesses.
  • Advise clients on case progress and provide regular status updates.
  • Write motions and briefs addressing complex medical and legal issues.
  • Contribute to effective case management, ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice defense.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle a caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage complex legal and medical issues.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License in good standing (required).

Skills:

  • Expertise in legal research, drafting, and litigation processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex litigation cases.
  • Strong advocacy skills, both in writing and oral arguments.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on client service.
  • Proficiency in legal software and case management tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
