Boston office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks life sciences associate attorney with 4+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house position, including experience as a technology specialist or patent agent. The candidate will work on a wide variety of intellectual property matters, including patent prosecution, opinion work, due diligence projects, and general intellectual property counseling. Will work on teams with senior members and more junior members of the Firm. Overseeing technology specialists/patent agents on patent preparation and prosecution matters. Writing patent applications, including reviewing technical disclosures and participating in client interviews to understand new inventions. Preparing responses to communications from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including developing arguments for patentability. Analyzing patents as part of the IP due diligence for a potential acquisition or merger. Assisting to prepare opinions. Overseeing technology specialists/patent agents performing literature and patent searches for FTO and patentability analyses. May take on additional responsibilities as needed. Must have a Ph.D. in Biology, Biomedical Sciences or a related field. Experience in cancer biology, immunology, or genetics is a plus.
