ProfileParalegal - Litigation and Regulatory Duties: Performs a full range of paralegal and advanced administrative duties in connection with the functions of the Legal Affairs Department. Provides legal and administrative support services to Legal Counsel, including drafting and reviewing litigation and investigation documents, correspondence and other documents. Direct communication with management, physicians, outside counsel and other staff members. Coordinates, reviews and assists Legal Counsel with resolution of legal matters, including claims, litigation and worker's compensation, regulatory, physician compensation and accreditation matters. Coordinates external and internal matters for Legal Counsel, including coordination of patient safety/risk and legal investigations.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: College Degree preferred. Candidate must have paralegal certificate or degree or be enrolled in paralegal certificate/degree program with expected completion within 9 months. Prior experience with medical malpractice claims and litigation, worker's compensation, employment litigation, physician compensation and healthcare regulatory matters a plus. Proficient in MS Office and electronic calendars. Professional grammar required. Ability to relieve Legal Counsel of administrative details when appropriate. Multi-tasking and confidentiality required. Must have ability to work with changing priorities and work independently with "can do" attitude.
