A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced Business Litigation Attorney with 5-7 years of experience in state and federal civil and business litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a client-centric philosophy, demonstrate versatility across various practice areas including insurance litigation, banking, and foreclosure, and exhibit strong skills in legal research, brief writing, communication, and motion practice.

Responsibilities:

• Handle a diverse caseload involving business litigation matters, including insurance litigation, banking, foreclosure, and other related areas.
• Conduct Electronically Stored Information (ESI) discovery and manage electronic discovery processes efficiently.
• Draft and argue motions in court, demonstrating persuasive advocacy skills.
• Utilize strong research abilities to analyze complex legal issues and provide sound legal advice.
• Maintain knowledge and application of Illinois Court Rules, Rules of Evidence, and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Adapt and learn new computer software relevant to legal practice as necessary.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership and good standing in the Illinois Bar.
• 5-7 years of experience in state and federal civil litigation, with a focus on business litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex litigation matters independently.
• Strong proficiency in legal research, writing legal briefs, and oral advocacy skills.
• Comfortable with learning and utilizing new computer software for legal practice.
• Portable book of business with growth potential is highly preferred.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership and good standing in the Illinois Bar.

Skills:

• Excellent legal research skills and ability to analyze complex legal issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Proficiency in using legal research databases and software tools.
• Experience with Electronically Stored Information (ESI) discovery processes is advantageous.
