Profile

Senior Life Sciences IP Attorney
The candidate will support and counsel clients in transactions in both academic and industry settings that include important and complex intellectual property issues. Will counsel clients about transactional structures and intellectual property considerations. Draft and negotiate a wide variety of transactions including: academic collaborations (in-licenses, sponsored research, research collaborations, clinical development collaborations, and consortiums) and industry collaborations (selective program / product / field / territory licensing, evaluation and option arrangements, R&D collaborations, manufacturing and process/formulation collaborations, and promotion and distribution agreements). Work within the Business Group with private equity, venture capital and mergers and acquisitions verticals. Handle matters related to pharmaceutical, healthcare, and life sciences regulatory issues. Analyze and structure arrangements among Life Sciences stakeholders.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a Bachelor's or advanced degree in a life sciences or related field. Should have excellent law school credentials and references. Must have 6+ years of experience as an IP attorney with a focus on the life sciences, including pharmaceuticals and/or healthcare matters. Should have a strong understanding of healthcare laws and regulations. Prior experience with Pharmacy, Life Sciences, and/or Healthcare related matters is required. Should also have prior experiences that prepare them to work with attorneys, staff and clients from cultures and backgrounds different from their own.

Pros : This is a fast paced environment. At every turn you are being challenged as an employee and a member of the team. This is great because the skills and guidance that is to be had here resonates through your career as an attorney. Your experience working in a fast paced environment only benefits you and your career. I've met some wonderful members here who I learned much from and the experience was very rewarding.
Cons : Communication is hazy between employees and the staff here because of how large the firm is. The fast paced flow of this firm only hinders this communication.
