Legal Counsel, Employment The candidate will work on a globally dispersed team within firm Legal to support firm's broad spectrum of employment efforts. Will evaluate employment practices for legal risk, establish priorities for process improvements, and execute on established priorities. Draft, review, and/or revise playbooks, policies, agreements, templates, and other employment-related documents. Review and respond to claims, demand letters, administrative complaints, audits, and other employment-related inquiries. Manage outside counsel on employment matters, and provide guidance to the PeopleOps team regarding employment disputes as needed. Assist in developing and conducting training and education programs for employees, managers, and the PeopleOps team. 5+ years of professional experience, which must include significant time at a major law firm; in-house experience is a plus. Practical experience in applicable laws related to recruiting, employee relations, performance management, leaves of absence and accommodations, wage and hour, internal investigations, compensation and benefits, privacy and contingent workforce issues is essential. Must have outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate effectively and gain trust and confidence with personnel at many different levels.
