ProfileSenior Legal Specialist The candidate will draft, review, edit and negotiate, from scratch or template as required, the legal agreements that govern the services provided by certain firm's Business Units to its manufacturer customers with minimal oversight or guidance. Able to identify contractual provisions that pose risk to firm. Effectively and efficiently coordinate business terms with business partners. Able to work independently and assess when to seek guidance of supervisor or BU attorney. Requires a keen understanding of the business, legal, and healthcare regulatory requirements relevant to firm's commercial contracts with pharmaceutical manufacturers and pharmacy customers. Identify business, legal and regulatory issues in commercial pharmaceutical contracts and projects. Draft, review, revise and negotiate complex commercial pharmaceutical contracts under manager or attorney supervision. Communicate with internal business partners on the requirements for and status of contracts. Adeptly identify issues for escalation or attorney review. Ability to communicate risk or related business/legal concerns to internal stakeholders effectively and professionally. Skilled at negotiating terms. Manage work on multiple deals in fast-paced environment. Undertake contract research projects to identify specified terms or key issues across multiple agreements. Project management skills with the ability to manage simultaneous projects in an efficient and timely manner. Work closely under supervision of department director or responsible attorney, and exercise independent judgment in escalating issues within broadly defined practices and policies.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 8 years paralegal or legal experience. Must have 8+ years’ experience drafting, editing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts. Must be proficient in Office word processing programs and WorkShare, or equivalent programs. Experience working in pharmaceutical or healthcare environment, ideally with pharmaceutical manufacturer agreements is required. Strong writing and verbal communication skills is required. Must have experience communicating effectively with all levels of management both internal and external to the organization. Must have 2 year Associates degree and/or Paralegal Certificate with 9+ years related work experience OR 4 year degree (Preferred) with 7+ years related work experience.
