Worker's Compensation Legal Assistant The candidate will be scheduling. Will be maintaining calendars. Maintaining court dockets and rosters. Document management and analysis for large cases. Medical record summaries and chronologies. Preparation and service of subpoenas and other discovery requests is essential. Preparation of pleadings and discovery responses is essential. Procurement of medical records/HIPPA compliance is needed. Preparation of routine status reports to clients or national counsel. Electronic filings/ECF with Federal Court. Should have 3+ years of experience working in a law firm. Thorough understanding of the litigation process is essential. Knowledge of court and administrative hearing rules and procedures are needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. and other legal software applications are needed. Professional demeanor, excellent communication and computer skills are essential.

I think they need to send some of the older lawyers and staff to a seminar or two about joining the law community in 2017, since a lot of their ways are stuck in the Fifties.

Pros : Turner Padget is a firm that specializes in South Carolina law cases, so they have a lot of loyal clients built up over their long history. The firm is doing well and is attracting good new lawyers and a relatively steady flow of clients. There is good collaboration and teamwork between the various divisions and five offices throughout the state.
Cons : Padget Graham has been around since 1930 and is really set in some of the old ways of practicing law. They're still growing into learning about all of the newer structures and approaches to modern law, and innovative styles and approaches don't fare well with them.
