Advocacy Intern
The candidate will monitor the work of the United Nations in New York, conduct desk research for various short and long-term assignments, liaise with UN officials, and contribute to building and maintaining a database of advocacy contacts. Attend internal advocacy strategy meetings and external meetings with UN officials and diplomats. Other duties and projects will be assigned as they arise. Must be a student for the duration of the internship term. Should have a strong interest in some combination of international human rights, international relations, or social change. Should demonstrate precise attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, conscientiousness about checking one’s own work, a positive attitude, a proactive approach, and good judgment. Computer skills (i.e., proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel) are required.
