Intake and Restorations and Reinstatement Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for initial review of all received complaints against members of the firm; includes completing intake information review sheet with recommendation to Intake Attorney/Deputy Bar Counsel; includes gathering modicum of information as appropriate or necessary, such as quick review of Court Net or other readily available materials by simple search; consulting with Intake Attorney/Deputy Bar Counsel regarding processing of complaints; drafting letters to return complaints that do not conform to requirements under SCR 3.130. Processing of applications for reinstatement or restoration filed by suspended attorneys; includes physically opening files, making appropriate entries in Just Ware, conferring with attorneys assigned reinstatement and restoration files regarding processing of matters to the character and fitness committee and/or the board of governors; preparation of restoration memoranda. Initial reviewing and opening of Fee Arbitration and Legal Negligence files. Opening and distribution of departmental mail. Preparing for hearings before the firm Office of Bar Admissions’ Character and Fitness Committee. Drafting disciplinary summaries and assisting with disciplinary investigations. Any other duties as required by the Office of Bar Counsel. Chain of Command: Direct report of Intake Attorney/Deputy Bar Counsel. Must be able to work additional hours on some projects as needed and assigned.
