VP, Assistant General Counsel - Wholesale Payments Legal
Duties: Advising the Commercial Card business on key legal/regulatory issues. Providing legal analysis in relation to new business initiatives and assisting in the development and implementation of new products and services. Drafting and negotiating Commercial Card documentation. Collaborating with business teams, as well as colleagues in Legal, Risk, Compliance and other control functions to address and resolve complex issues and develop policies, procedures and training materials to advance the objectives of the Commercial Card business. Instructing and supervising external counsel, as required, on transactional matters and bespoke advice, including the review and analysis of legal opinions.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: US law school degree (JD Degree). 5+ years post-admission experience practicing with a major law firm, financial institution or judicial clerkship. Familiarity with privacy law, data security, marketing, intellectual property and/ or experience with a credit card issuer preferred. Must be in compliance with the regulations of the local jurisdiction where the attorney will work prior to commencement of employment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Excellent negotiation and drafting skills; Strong organizational and project management skills; Attention to detail; Proven ability to independently identify issues, analyze problems and provide viable solutions; Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, manage complex projects and multitask successfully in a fast-paced and complex business environment; Ability to work in an open plan team environment; Team player, confident and proactive, with an up-beat, “can-do” attitude; Ability to interact effectively with clients; Ability to think outside the box and focus on key points; Ability to exercise good judgment; and the Ability to act with urgency and work accurately under pressure.
