Specialist, Paralegal The candidate will review, analyze and draft reports/correspondence and interact with internal (including Save the Children International) and external stakeholders (including government and other donors) concerning Agency compliance and ethics matters; maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date electronic records in Agency compliance software system related to such matters; analyze data and prepare reports based on such records (50%) Support the General Counsel in the preparation and distribution of reports, presentations, substantive updates and other materials for meetings of the Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees and other matters relating to the Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees. Will provide professional support for the Office of General Counsel, help drive improvements in Agency compliance, record-keeping, and reporting, and provide general administrative support for the Office of General Counsel. Review, analyze and draft reports/correspondence and interact with internal (including save the children international) and external stakeholders (including government and other donors) concerning Agency compliance and ethics matters; maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date electronic records in Agency compliance software system related to such matters; analyze data and prepare reports based on such records. Support the General Counsel in the preparation and distribution of reports, presentations, substantive updates and other materials for meetings of the Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees and other matters relating to the Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees. Provide general administrative support to the Office of General Counsel, including reviewing monthly expenses for accuracy, assisting department staff with scheduling and travel, updating the departmental intranet site, and ensuring compliance with agency wide policies and procedures. Assist other departments, including Save the Children Action Network and the Agency’s Public Policy and Advocacy Group, in monitoring and meeting reporting obligations, including tracking deadlines and identifying issues for counsel’s review. Other matters, as directed by the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel. Paralegal certification or equivalent experience is needed. Should have 3-5 years’ experience as a paralegal at a law firm or in-house legal department is needed. A high degree of professionalism, demonstrated attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skill is needed. Strong computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Case management experience is needed. Professional experience with incident management software and/or databases are needed. Experience working in an organization with international operation is needed. Experience with, or knowledge of, nonprofit organizations and/or international development and humanitarian operations is essential. Knowledge of legal requirements related to government grants and contract is needed.
