A law firm in Atlanta is seeking a Construction Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in prosecuting and/or defending construction claims, contract drafting and negotiation, and evaluating risks in construction contexts. Experience in insurance, commercial law, products liability, or general litigation will also be considered, provided the candidate is interested in focusing their practice on the construction industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handle a variety of construction-related legal matters, including prosecuting and defending construction claims.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and related documents.
  • Assess and advise clients on risks associated with construction projects.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on construction law issues.
  • Represent clients in mediation, arbitration, and litigation proceedings related to construction disputes.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to clients involved in construction projects.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on complex construction cases.
  • Stay updated on developments in construction law and regulations.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar and in good standing in at least one state.
  • 2+ years of experience in construction law, with a focus on claims, contracts, and risk evaluation.
  • Strong preference for candidates with experience in insurance, commercial litigation, products liability, or related fields.
  • Superior academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
