# Job Title: Assistant State’s Attorney, Criminal Division ## Hiring at Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Juvenile Justice Division The Cook County State’s Attorney's Office Juvenile Justice Division is seeking an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Criminal Division. This is a full time exempt position in the Criminal Prosecutions Bureau, which covers a wide range of geographical areas including 2650 S. California, Chicago IL. and surrounding suburban districts such as Skokie, Rolling Meadows, Maywood, Bridgeview, and Markham. The Assistant State’s Attorney will be responsible for managing misdemeanor, felony and traffic caseloads, including preliminary hearings, grand jury indictments, and bond hearings for felony cases. ## Duties and Responsibilities * Prepare misdemeanor, felony and traffic cases for disposition by plea, trial, or alternative prosecution resolution * Research legal issues, draft pretrial motions or other relevant legal documents, and respond to defense pretrial and post-trial motions appropriately * Litigate pretrial and post-trial motions, petitions to rescind summary suspensions, bench trials, and/or jury trials * Conduct bond hearings at both the misdemeanor and felony levels * Communicate with and support victims and witnesses throughout the pendency of case proceedings * Make appropriate charging decisions in felony matters through preliminary hearings or indictment before the Grand Jury of Cook County * Present witness testimony before the Grand Jury ## Qualifications * Possess a * Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, solid work ethic, attention to detail, accountability, and sound judgment ## Salary The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. ## How to Apply To apply, forward a copy of your resume and statement of interest to Tolu Tepede, Legal Hiring at .
