Corporate Paralegal Duties: Successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, frequently adjusting to shifting priorities. Identify and address areas of concern to business and legal departments. Prepare drafts of documents from research or existing templates. Build redlines and revise preliminary documentation based on established guidelines. Interprets contracts and advises management and sales groups on contractual responsibilities, including legal as well as commercial concerns and alternatives. Respond to requests and critical issues from staff, business, finance, legal, risk and others on legal function administration and procedures. Effectively handle customer disputes and issues. Process all signed documents for execution. Prioritize work when dealing with multiple tasks within a limited timeframe when needed. Work independently and as part of a team and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment working under set timelines. Initiative to take on issues as needed. Accurately identify and explain key issues in an easily understandable manner. Effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or degree in Paralegal Studies. Notary license (or willingness to acquire public notary license) is a plus. Previous legal experience preferred involving business transactions and project management preferred (2+ years) including review and drafting of contract provisions, bid documents, and insurance requirements. Experience reviewing and redlining contracts, insurance requirements, RFPs, bond and lien documents. Understanding of basic insurance and/or bonds requirements helpful. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of integrity in all interactions and correspondence. Background in the construction industry is preferred. Familiarity with construction related agreements, including AIA contract documents is a plus. Understand key legal concepts including the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). Demonstrated project management skills coupled with creativity and resourcefulness. Outstanding communication and writing skills and problem-solving skills with a result based mentality. Clear and unequivocal dedication to ethics, integrity, confidentiality and discretion. Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Adobe, DocuSign and ability to quickly learn other software applications, including Icertis contract management software. Accuracy and attention to detail while handling numerous tasks simultaneously. Willingness to learn, ask questions and be resourceful to accomplish work objectives.
