Senior Attorney The candidate will handle a variety of legal issues involving the Division of Real Estate Development and Management and the Division of Specialized Services. Will also assist with emergency preparedness and with issues from the Office of Information Technology. Provide daily counsel to these assigned areas on a wide variety of issues including, real property law, commercial leases, construction project management and bonding, landlord-tenant law, fleet management, coordination of parking activities, procurement, and general contract law. Will also defend a variety of agency decisions through the administrative hearing process; some civil trial and appellate work may also be required. Provide competent legal advice and counsel to the department. Develop an expertise in assigned subject area in order to give legal advice regarding agency operations, litigation, rulemaking, and legislation. Participate in the provision of legal representation for DMS in administrative and judicial proceedings. Provide advice and work product based on a thorough understanding of the applicable law and an accurate knowledge of the facts. Conduct special projects, as assigned. Fulfill assignments on a timely basis. Admission to the Florida Bar is required. Should have 3+ years of experience as a licensed attorney. Must have 2+ years of litigation experience. Experience in government procurement and contracting is preferred. Experience in administrative law is highly desired. Must have basic proficiency in office information technology. A juris doctor from an accredited law school at the time of graduation is required. Closing Date: 20 June 2018.
