Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a skilled Finance and Restructuring Associate to join its Finance & Restructuring practice group. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of corporate finance transactions, including loan originations and real estate financings. The firm’s team provides services to financial institutions, public and private companies, and private credit. The position is available across multiple offices and offers a hybrid work model. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate finance, with strong document drafting and client management skills.

Location:

  • Des Moines, IA

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate corporate finance documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, and intercreditor agreements.
  • Provide legal counsel on covenant compliance and financial regulatory matters.
  • Lead due diligence teams and manage legal specialists on complex finance transactions.
  • Advise financial institutions, borrowers, and clients on commercial finance and real estate financing matters.
  • Manage multiple assignments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of legal services.
  • Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders to address financial and restructuring issues.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 6 years of experience in corporate finance or restructuring.
  • Proven experience drafting finance-related documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, and intercreditor agreements.
  • Strong advisory experience related to covenant compliance and transaction structuring.
  • Ability to lead and manage due diligence teams effectively.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in the relevant state jurisdiction(s).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Knowledge of corporate finance transactions, loan originations, and real estate financings.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Client-focused with the ability to maintain and develop client relationships.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
